About the Role
Blundstone, a renowned Australian footwear brand with an extensive international presence, is seeking a Graphic Designer to influence the visual identity of the brand across various platforms. This is a 12-month contract position based in Hobart, Tasmania, reporting to the Global Creative Lead within the Global Brand and Marketing team.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the generation of brand and creative concepts, implementing assets for business-to-consumer channels including point of sale materials, marketing campaigns, social media, e-commerce, print collateral, and packaging design.
- Contribute to brand and creative concepts development for business-to-business communications such as presentations, lookbooks, data sheets, and conference designs.
- Collaborate with the brand and marketing team to deliver brand content and assets across owned and third-party channels as per annual plans.
- Work closely with creative personnel, photographers, and stylists to maintain brand consistency in all visual outputs, reviewing artwork and designs developed by markets when needed.
- Maintain and refine brand guidelines to establish a unified visual identity.
- Assist in photo retouching and image optimization for both digital and print media.
- Keep updated with current design trends, industry innovations, and new technologies.
- Compile regular progress reports on design projects to inform the Global Creative Lead about actions, deadlines, results, and suggestions.
Candidate Requirements
- Possession of a tertiary qualification in Graphic Design, Visual Communication, or equivalent proven experience.
- At least three years' experience in graphic design, preferably with consumer-centric brands in an agency setting.
- A compelling portfolio demonstrating diverse design projects and creative problem-solving skills.
- Expertise in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) and Microsoft Office; familiarity with Figma, Canva, Procreate, content management systems, and AI-driven content automation tools is advantageous.
- Sound knowledge of typography, color theory, and layout design fundamentals.
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities with a proficient collaborative approach.
