About the Role
A distinguished building contractor based in County Westmeath is seeking a Graduate Engineer to contribute to an important construction project in the Midlands region. This position offers a valuable opportunity for a newly graduated engineer to acquire practical experience within site operations by working closely with seasoned site professionals.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out site setting out using surveying instruments and engineering drawings.
- Support site supervision to ensure all works conform to project specifications, drawings, and quality standards.
- Oversee document control including management of drawings, revisions, and technical records.
- Undertake quality inspections to guarantee compliance with company and project requirements.
- Assist with daily site coordination, monitoring progress, and preparing reports.
- Coordinate subcontractors by facilitating inductions and supervising tasks.
- Support health and safety compliance through site inspections and reporting activities.
- Help with material tracking, logistics, and maintenance of project documentation.
- Collaborate with engineers, foremen, subcontractors, and project managers to ensure smooth project execution.
- Gain familiarity with project planning, scheduling, and preparation of as-built drawings and documentation.
Qualifications and Skills
- Possess a tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Demonstrate keen interest in construction site operations and delivery of engineering projects.
- Have knowledge of construction drawings and fundamental engineering principles.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Exhibit strong communication, organizational, and teamwork abilities.
- Adaptable to dynamic, fast-moving site environments.
- Detail-oriented and committed to proactive problem resolution.
- Eager to learn and progress within the role.
- Holding a full driving licence is preferred but not mandatory.
