About the Role
We are seeking a skilled Government Relations Manager to lead engagement with government entities and manage regulatory affairs. The position is fully remote, based in the United Arab Emirates, offering the opportunity to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams supporting sustainable business growth and regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Formulate and execute government relations strategies and stakeholder engagement plans aligned with business objectives.
- Cultivate and maintain strong partnerships with government ministries, regulatory bodies, municipalities, economic development agencies, chambers of commerce, free zones, and other public sector organizations.
- Work alongside Legal, Compliance, Public Affairs, Corporate Communications, Human Resources, Finance, Operations, Sustainability, Business Development, and executive leaders to advance regulatory and strategic initiatives.
- Track legislative updates, government policies, regulatory changes, and industry trends to evaluate business impacts and offer strategic counsel.
- Manage business licensing, permits, regulatory approvals, registrations, visa government processes, and official documentation.
- Represent the organization at government meetings, consultations, industry forums, events, working groups, and initiatives.
- Support advocacy through preparing policy briefs, responses to consultations, position statements, executive presentations, and stakeholder communications.
- Coordinate regulatory submissions, compliance documents, official correspondence, and government reporting.
- Build alliances with industry associations and trade organizations to support company goals.
- Monitor KPIs such as regulatory compliance, stakeholder engagement success, permit processing times, licensing completion, government partnership results, issue resolution speed, and strategic project outcomes.
- Conduct regulatory impact assessments, stakeholder analyses, compliance evaluations, risk assessments, benchmarking, and continuous enhancements.
- Ensure adherence to UAE laws, government regulations, licensing norms, corporate governance, public sector protocols, anti-bribery and anti-corruption rules, and internal policies.
- Manage budgets, external consultants, membership programs, stakeholder engagement activities, public affairs projects, and strategic partnerships.
- Drive digital transformation using AI-powered regulatory monitoring, stakeholder analytics, document automation, workflow improvements, predictive policy analysis, and business intelligence.
- Utilize tools like Microsoft 365, Dynamics 365, Salesforce, SAP, Oracle ERP Cloud, Power BI, Tableau, CRM, ERP, document management, and regulatory tracking systems to enhance stakeholder relationships and insight generation.
- Prepare executive dashboards, government engagement reports, regulatory updates, policy analyses, stakeholder mapping, compliance summaries, and strategic advice for leadership.
- Lead and develop government relations teams fostering a culture of integrity, collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Political Science, International Relations, Law, Business Administration, Public Policy, Communications, or related fields.
- Master's degree (MPA, MBA, or related) considered highly beneficial.
- Professional certifications in Government Relations, Public Affairs, PMP, Regulatory Affairs, Compliance, or similar preferred.
- Minimum 5 years in government relations, public affairs, regulatory roles, corporate communications, or public policy.
- At least 2 years managing government engagement programs, regulatory projects, stakeholder partnerships, or teams is advantageous.
- Comprehensive knowledge of UAE governmental structures, regulatory processes, licensing requirements, public policy development, stakeholder management, corporate governance, and compliance.
- Experience with software platforms like Microsoft Dynamics 365, Salesforce, SAP, Oracle ERP Cloud, Microsoft Office Suite, Power BI, Tableau, CRM, ERP, document management, and regulatory tracking tools.
- Familiarity with AI-driven regulatory intelligence, stakeholder analytics, policy monitoring, workflow automation, digital government services, and cutting-edge business intelligence solutions is an asset.
- Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, stakeholder management, analytical, project management, organizational, diplomacy, and problem-solving abilities.
- Capability to handle multiple initiatives simultaneously, aligning regulatory duties, priorities, stakeholder needs, budgets, deadlines, and objectives.
- Proven ability to operate effectively remotely with teams, officials, legal advisors, consultants, executives, and global stakeholders, including occasional travel for meetings and events.
