General Manager

Role Purpose

The General Manager reports to the CEO with overall accountability for the operational management and control of all company departments, ensuring alignment with the Board's established policies, strategic objectives, and mandates.

Key Responsibilities

• Strategic Leadership: Drive execution of the strategic plans aimed at business sustainability and growth under CEO guidance; communicate and implement the organization's vision, mission, and direction effectively.
• Operational Oversight: Manage business operations within CEO parameters by overseeing policy execution and operational plans; foster an ethical corporate culture emphasizing integrity and company values;
• Departmental Management: Define organizational departments’ roles, liaise with functional heads, and supervise multi-unit business functions including sales, profitability, and cost control.
• Compliance and Quality: Ensure strict adherence to relevant laws and regulations, maintain high standards for facilities and services, protect company assets, and optimize resource use.
• Reporting and Budgeting: Recommend operational and capital budgets to the Board; oversee business financial activities in partnership with the Commercial Financial Controller; prepare comprehensive reports on operations, finances, and future plans for the CEO.
• Marketing and Sales: Lead the implementation of innovative sales and marketing strategies focused on growth and client satisfaction; monitor revenue and support the sales team to meet targets; engage proactively with top clients to promote retention.
• Financial and Risk Management: Identify and mitigate principal risks; implement robust financial and administrative systems to ensure resource efficiency and safeguard assets; comply with regulatory reporting requirements; optimize ERP/software utilization.
• Human Resources: Collaborate with HR leadership to design organizational structures and staffing plans; direct HR activities including budget approvals, talent management, succession, retention, and performance measurement; chair health and safety initiatives.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Act as primary spokesperson; manage communications and maintain solid relationships with key clients and community stakeholders; oversee CSR projects with proper approvals.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Business Management, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
• Proficiency in business software and systems; knowledge of ISO management systems is advantageous.
• Minimum five years in senior or similar management roles leading multicultural business operations with proven success in strategy execution and business expansion.
• Experience spanning manufacturing, retail, distribution, or related sectors.
