About the Team
The Controllership division oversees all financial transactions from recording through to final reporting, including preparing financial statements and providing insight into the company's financial status. This role involves ensuring a timely monthly closure of financial accounts, coordinating with statutory auditors for audits, and facilitating audit processes by working closely with various stakeholders. Responsibilities also include completing quarterly limited reviews per SEBI (LODR) standards, managing internal financial control audits, improving financial reporting of subsidiaries for efficiency, finalizing monthly MIS profit and loss statements punctually, and supporting bankers, due diligence teams, lenders, and investors by providing necessary financial data. Moreover, facilitating timely completion of acquisition-related financial activities like due diligence and coordination is expected.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and approve monthly financial statement closures and disclosures for designated Lines of Business.
- Lead the working capital management initiatives within the assigned business unit.
- Oversee accounting, reconciliation, and analytical tasks, including sanctioning bank reconciliations and ensuring journal entry reconciliation in collaboration with brand and vendor partners.
- Perform month-to-month trend analysis and investigate major fluctuations in Profit & Loss and Balance Sheet accounts.
- Ensure effective implementation and compliance with Internal Controls over Financial Reporting (ICOFR).
- Establish and enforce standard operating procedures across financial processes and sub-functions.
- Champion finance automation efforts to enhance reporting through system automation.
- Manage Accounts Payable objectives, including timely payments.
- Lead statutory and internal audits to timely closure.
- Assist in finance functions for new business verticals from inception through launch, including business model development, ERP system selection, and process setup.
- Build robust cross-functional relationships with key business partners.
- Proactively identify and implement process efficiencies, improving accounting and reporting outcomes.
- Mentor and develop the finance team by defining growth roadmaps and unlocking individual potential.
Candidate Profile
- Minimum ten years of experience with specialized knowledge in Accounts Payable, Procure-to-Pay, vendor and GST reconciliation, and finance operations.
- Proven ability to identify, introduce, and track continuous improvement initiatives.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong analytical capabilities with the aptitude to correlate financial results with operational performance, develop alternatives, and drive improvements.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
