General Labourer

Job Overview

The General Labourer role focuses on contributing to Lean, 5S, and Continuous Improvement initiatives within a designated production area. Responsibilities include maintaining cleanliness of workspaces and equipment, supporting various maintenance and fabrication tasks, and participating in the ongoing improvement programs at Linamar Corporation.

Key Responsibilities

• Uphold and exemplify Linamar’s Core Values and Leadership Behaviors.
• Strike a balance among customer satisfaction, employee welfare, and financial targets by enhancing facility and departmental performance in line with the Stepping Stool of Success strategy.
• Support and uphold departmental lean processes as required by the LPS system.
• Maintain the 5S program, including tasks like line painting within the plant environment as needed.
• Step in to perform janitorial duties when regular janitorial staff are unavailable.
• Carry out maintenance jobs assigned by the Maintenance Supervisor or designated staff.
• Assist with small fabrication projects and general building upkeep.
• Address and resolve issues promptly, collaborating with the team to manage day-to-day challenges.

Qualifications and Skills

• Completion of secondary education or its equivalent.
• Ability to safely operate various hand and power tools.
• Effective communication skills to coordinate work and convey task information among colleagues.
• Capability to work independently as well as collaboratively on tasks requiring mutual effort, including heavy lifting.
• Willingness and ability to continuously learn through on-the-job training and workplace development.
