Garment Buying Merchandiser

About the Role

We are looking for a seasoned Apparel Buying Merchandiser to join our team at our South Delhi location. This role involves managing the entire merchandising lifecycle with an emphasis on high-end fashion and luxury party wear within a buying house environment. The candidate should excel in identifying fashion trends and negotiating with suppliers while maintaining strong professional relationships.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the complete merchandising process from selecting products to final delivery, aligning with current market trends and customer preferences.
• Develop and sustain productive relationships with suppliers and manufacturers, ensuring contract terms are favorable and quality benchmarks are maintained.
• Perform ongoing market research and trend evaluation to discover potential avenues for new product introductions and improvements to existing lines.
• Oversee inventory by tracking stock availability and sales outcomes to suggest restocking or markdowns as appropriate.
• Collaborate with design, production, and sales departments to ensure product assortments are consistent with the brand’s strategic direction.
• Generate and present detailed reports on sales metrics, inventory conditions, and market trends to senior leadership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Merchandising, Business Administration, or a closely related discipline.
• At least four years of merchandising experience specifically within a buying house environment.
• Deep familiarity with luxury party wear, high-end fashion, and prevailing market trends.
• Strong skills in negotiation, analytics, and communication complemented by proficiency in merchandising software and MS Office applications.
