Role Overview

Under the guidance of the Team Manager, you will collaborate with team members to perform various general garden maintenance tasks across multiple sites in the Queenstown district, including Whakatipu and Arrowtown. Responsibilities include planting, weeding, pruning, controlling vegetation, and upkeep of bedding displays, hanging baskets, roses, borders, and shrubs. Prioritizing safety for the public, the team, and yourself is essential while ensuring all duties are performed to high standards.

Candidate Profile

We seek a dedicated gardener or horticulturalist with commercial-level hands-on gardening experience or relevant qualifications such as National Level 3 or 4 in Horticulture and/or GrowSafe Certification. The role requires a passion for outdoor work and the physical ability to endure challenging climate conditions.

Requirements

• Practical gardening experience at a commercial scale or relevant horticulture certification.
• Possession of a current full driver’s licence with the ability to operate a manual transmission vehicle (mandatory).
• A strong work ethic coupled with a positive, proactive approach.
• Familiarity with health and safety protocols pertinent to gardening roles.
• Good communication skills to interact with the public as needed.
• Physical requirements to perform labor-intensive outdoor tasks.
