Role Overview
We are looking for a skilled FP&A Business Partner with a strong analytical mindset and intellectual curiosity. In this strategic role, you will support financial decision-making by developing robust financial models, monitoring KPIs, and collaborating across departments. Reporting to the FP&A Director, you will influence financial performance through profitability analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and financial structure optimization. You will also contribute to shaping the FP&A function by establishing tools and best practices that enhance the company’s financial maturity and growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Create and uphold detailed financial models to aid strategic planning and decisions.
- Analyze financial performance, including budget variances, trends, and forecasting.
- Identify opportunities to enhance profitability and operational efficiency, offering actionable insights.
- Engage actively in annual financial planning, budgeting reviews, and quarterly forecasts.
- Develop monthly financial forecasts and projections, particularly suited for project-driven professional services.
- Collaborate with business units to collect data, validate assumptions, and ensure projection consistency.
- Track key performance indicators and build dynamic dashboards for monitoring.
- Serve as a strategic consultant to managers and stakeholders, clarifying financial outcomes and implications.
- Present financial analyses and recommendations effectively to diverse audiences.
- Promote cooperation between finance and operational teams to foster a collaborative culture.
- Participate in strategic ventures such as mergers & acquisitions, capital expenditures, and growth initiatives.
- Assist in enhancing financial management systems, tools, and processes.
- Guarantee data quality, reliability, and relevance used in all analyses.
Required Qualifications
- CPA credential with extensive experience in financial planning, modeling, and analysis; or CFA designation with fundamental accounting knowledge.
- At least 7 years of relevant experience, including a minimum of 2 years in a similar FP&A role.
- Demonstrated success as a business partner collaborating with operational teams.
- Exceptional analytical abilities to distill complex data into strategic, actionable advice.
- Entrepreneurial approach with enthusiasm for developing FP&A systems and methodologies.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel along with knowledge of visualization/analytics platforms such as Power BI or Tableau.
- Skilled at working with cross-functional teams, simplifying complex financial matters, and delivering clear advice to non-financial stakeholders.
- Experience in professional services environments is highly valued.
- M&A experience constitutes an advantage.
- Fluent in both English and French, verbal and written, to support Quebec client groups.
