About the Role
Selwood House, a luxury care home situated in Charlton Down near Dorchester, Dorset, is seeking a dedicated Food & Beverage Assistant. The facility, part of the Country Court family, supports up to 84 residents and offers specialised services in residential, dementia, and short-term respite care. This role involves working onsite for 30 hours per week, including weekend shifts on a rotating schedule, with hours from 08:00 to 18:30.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve meals, snacks, and drinks to residents with care and attentiveness.
- Maintain and replenish snack stations throughout the facility.
- Ensure dining and kitchen areas are cleaned thoroughly after meal times.
- Rearrange tables and replace tablecloths to ensure a welcoming dining environment.
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate is proactive, compassionate, and motivated to contribute to a person-centered atmosphere for residents while fostering connections with the local community. They will have:
- Strong customer service capabilities.
- Previous experience in a Food & Beverage Assistant role or equivalent.
- Good understanding of food service practices in the dining or restaurant sector.
- Knowledge of COSHH and general health and safety regulations.
- A warm and caring attitude and the ability to engage positively with residents and their families.
- Familiarity with dementia care and sensitivity in handling related needs.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
