Role Overview
This opportunity is for a Financial Planner based in Kingston, Ontario, working within TD Wealth. The role is designed for someone who can support mass affluent clients with holistic financial planning and advice while helping them work toward their personal and financial goals.
Compensation and Hours
The position is based in Kingston, Ontario, Canada and follows a 37.5-hour workweek. The stated pay range is CAD 60,000 to CAD 70,000. In addition to base pay, the role is eligible for commission-based earnings. Compensation may vary depending on skills, experience, role-related knowledge, location, and broader business needs.
What You’ll Do
- Work closely with clients to understand their financial and life goals, complete detailed financial reviews, and build long-term relationships through ongoing advice and support.
- Use data and performance insights to assess outcomes, shape recommendations, and review the impact of financial programs, policies, and practices.
- Partner with teammates to meet common goals, improve the client experience, and consistently deliver high-quality service.
- Track productivity and service performance, identify ways to improve efficiency, and support continuous improvement efforts.
- Keep up with current industry practices and emerging trends in financial planning.
- Share knowledge with coworkers by mentoring and guiding them in a collaborative environment.
- Maintain a strong focus on risk management and controls in line with the organization’s risk appetite.
- Contribute as an engaged team member in a positive, service-focused workplace.
What the Role Calls For
- A bachelor’s degree is preferred.
- 3 to 5 years of experience in banking services is preferred, especially in client relationship management and customized investment advice.
- Willingness to secure Registered Representative (RR) licensing through the Canadian Investment Regulatory Organization (CIRO) if not already licensed.
- Commitment to earning the Certified Financial Planner (CFP) designation within the first 3 years in the role.
- For CFP eligibility, candidates must have a university degree or meet one of these alternatives: up to 10 years of qualifying work experience, or at least 5 years as a QAFP professional in good standing at the time of application.
