Overview
This opportunity is with a partner organization seeking a Financial Analyst located in the United States. The role involves providing detailed financial analysis, reporting, and data management to support defense programs. You will work closely with leadership and key partners to generate insightful financial information, improve processes, and enable well-informed strategic decisions in a mission-focused environment. This is a remote position where your financial expertise impacts important government initiatives while collaborating with experienced professionals.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver financial analysis and support for defense-related programs, proactively addressing leadership needs both short-term and long-term.
- Partner with internal and external stakeholders to produce high-quality outputs such as communication plans, executive summaries, point papers, and analytical reports.
- Examine program financial data and metrics to identify patterns, opportunities for enhancement, and actionable recommendations.
- Contribute to strategic projects aimed at optimizing financial data collection, maintenance, control, and accessibility.
- Create precise, informative reports to aid leadership decisions and help meet program goals.
- Independently manage moderately complex tasks and seek guidance on more complex assignments to ensure quality completion.
- Ensure completion of all deliverables on time and up to established standards.
- Apply strong organizational and analytical capabilities to improve financial workflows and operational efficiency.
Candidate Requirements
- Minimum of five years experience supporting Department of Defense programs or related environments.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Management, Finance, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
- Current active Department of Defense Secret clearance with eligibility to maintain it.
- Familiarity with SharePoint and experience managing structured informational systems.
- Proficiency using Microsoft Office applications, especially PowerPoint, Word, Access, and Excel.
- Strong analytical acumen for interpreting financial data and translating it into practical recommendations.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to build effective relationships with leadership and stakeholders.
- Capable of working autonomously, managing multiple priorities, and producing quality results in a remote setting.
- Preferred: Certification in Earned Value Management (EVM) or equivalent Defense Acquisition University cost estimating credentials.
