Financial Analyst - Fully Remote Contract Opportunity

About The Role

Mercor, a company bridging top creative and technical talent with leading AI research labs and backed by renowned investors, is seeking a skilled Financial Analyst specializing in non-investment finance. This contractor position offers remote work with flexible hours and compensation at $85 per hour.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and review key financial deliverables including profit and loss statements, mark-to-market reconciliations, vendor and accounts payable reconciliations, as well as integrated three-statement and pro-forma financial models.
• Assess AI-generated financial outputs for accuracy and adherence to professional standards.
• Analyze primary financial documents like term sheets and trial balances to identify essential information, filtering out less relevant data.
• Produce clear, executive-ready written reports explaining assumptions, explanatory variances, and strategic recommendations.
• Apply professional judgment independently, even when faced with incomplete or ambiguous data, while working asynchronously.

Required Qualifications

• A minimum of five years' experience in a hands-on non-investment finance capacity.
• Deep understanding of US GAAP and IFRS standards coupled with advanced proficiency in Excel financial modeling.
• Ability to exercise sound professional judgment amid uncertain or partial information.

Preferred Credentials

• Relevant certifications such as CPA, CA, ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or their equivalents.
• Familiarity with accounting standards ASC 805 and ASC 606.
