About the role
Disney Entertainment & ESPN Product & Technology is a dynamic, fast-moving group building the next generation of entertainment and sports experiences for audiences worldwide. Finance is a key partner behind the scenes, supporting product launches, platform improvements, and innovation across the organization.
In this Financial Analyst position, you will manage a portion of the Professional Services budget for DEEP&T. You will work closely with senior leaders in Technology and Product to develop financial plans for major planning cycles such as the annual budget, long-range plan, and quarterly forecasts. You will also collaborate with Accounting and Controllership during the quarterly close process.
This job is based in New York, NY and reports to the Senior Manager, Financial Planning & Analysis for DE&E Product & Technology.
Key responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, and refine financial models used to forecast and analyze technology-related spending.
- Prepare forecasts, the annual operating plan, and the long-range plan as requested by Segment and Corporate FP&A, including variance analysis and leadership-facing presentations.
- Monitor invoices and contractual commitments, reconcile general ledger information, and handle accrual and reclassification work during quarterly closes while partnering with Accounting to finalize P&Ls.
- Create ad hoc reports, special analyses, and presentations for internal partners across Technology, Product, and Business Operations.
- Work day to day with Technology and Product teams to support and deliver financial outputs.
Qualifications
Successful candidates should bring strong analytical ability, advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills, and clear verbal and written communication. The role also calls for a collaborative mindset, solid problem-solving ability, interpersonal strength, project management capability, and a high level of accuracy and urgency. You should be comfortable learning new tools and systems quickly, and have enough curiosity to understand the business beyond routine tasks.
Education
A bachelor’s degree is required in Business, Finance, Economics, Accounting, Math, Statistics, Computer Science, or a scientific discipline.
Preferred background
- Experience in FP&A or public accounting is preferred.
- Prior work involving collaboration with non-Finance and non-Accounting teams is advantageous.
- Experience with enterprise finance platforms such as SAP, Cognos TM1, or Hyperion is a plus.
- Exposure to analytics tools like Alteryx, Power Query, or SQL is beneficial.
Compensation and benefits
The hiring range for this role in New York City is USD 91,300 to USD 111,500 per year.
