Financial Accountant

Role Overview

Barden seeks an enthusiastic and driven Financial Accountant to join their expanding property development and management company based in Cork. This position offers a valuable opportunity for recently certified accountants to gain extensive experience in a lively, fast-moving setting while engaging directly with senior management.

Key Duties

• Assist in preparing monthly financial statements for multiple group entities with accuracy and punctuality
• Develop management reporting packages to facilitate business decisions
• Maintain balance sheet reconciliations adhering to financial guidelines
• Contribute to year-end reporting and audit activities
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and monitoring of costs
• Conduct financial analysis and generate ad hoc reports when needed
• Participate in cash flow and liquidity oversight
• Support analyses related to project feasibility, capital investments, and expansion plans
• Help ensure compliance with VAT, PAYE/PRSI, and other Revenue requirements
• Assist with RCT administration and subcontractor compliance
• Keep accurate compliance documentation and meet all filing deadlines
• Provide assistance with payroll operations as necessary
• Identify opportunities for enhancing finance process efficiency
• Help strengthen internal controls, policies, and procedures
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement throughout the organisation

Qualifications & Skills

• Recently qualified or nearing qualification as an accountant
• Strong analytical capabilities and problem-solving skills
• Meticulous attention to detail with excellent organisational abilities
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and the broader Microsoft Office tools
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills
• Adept at managing multiple tasks in a dynamic environment
