Role Summary
We are looking for a strategic and highly motivated Facility Shift Manager to join our team. This role demands clarity of purpose, technical expertise, and leadership ambition. Key Responsibilities
- Continuously monitor all engineering assets within the data center following Yondr’s operational guidelines.
- Manage and oversee service providers and contractor operations, ensuring compliance with statutory and site-specific regulations including client policies and procedures.
- Provide escalation and communication for incidents to designated personnel per established procedures.
- Ensure 24/7 systems monitoring and timely response by coverage teams.
- Support root cause analysis of incidents in partnership with service providers.
- Assist in planning for projects and scheduled maintenance activities.
- Coordinate shift workflows, preventive maintenance, incident management, and attendance planning.
- Oversee execution of both planned and unplanned activities onsite.
- Drive achievement of service delivery performance targets aligned with client expectations.
- Report health and safety matters relevant to shift operations.
- Accurately record and report all maintenance tasks, whether completed or incomplete, including repairs and preventative maintenance schedules.
- Compile detailed shift reports at every shift’s conclusion.
- Collaborate with the Critical Service Manager by providing feedback and improvement suggestions.
- Participate in technical discussions focused on enhancing onsite delivery.
- Adhere to a strong safety culture, paying attention to detail related to HSE requirements, including permits to work (PTW), isolation systems, and risk assessments method statements (RAMS).
- Conduct audits across multiple standards such as ISO 9000, 14000, 27000, and 55000.
- Supervise shift engineers to ensure work complies with safety and procedural guidelines.
- Complete all mandatory training courses.
Qualifications and Experience
- Multi-skilled with a background in mechanical and electrical engineering.
- Knowledgeable about UPS, generators, and power distribution systems.
- Experience in high-voltage switching and possession of an up-to-date high-voltage training certificate.
- Qualified to current standards as an electrical or mechanical engineer.
- Effective verbal and written communication abilities.
- Team-oriented and committed to following processes essential to critical environment operations.
- Strong leadership and managerial capabilities.
