About the Role
Association Headquarters is actively seeking a mission-oriented Executive Director to lead and support our network of client associations while driving company growth. This top leadership role acts as the chief executive officer under the guidance of the officers and board members. The Executive Director ensures smooth day-to-day functioning of the association and collaborates closely with officers and board leaders to establish and implement the mission, goals, and strategic objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure the association complies fully with governance and legal requirements, including state and federal laws, Articles and bylaws, and adhere to AH's best practices for organizational filings and governance.
- Develop, maintain, and oversee a strategic plan aligned with the organization's mission, guiding board members to sustain strategic focus.
- Manage risk by securing appropriate insurance coverage for all programs, conducting regular reviews, and safeguarding intellectual property through proper filings of copyrights and trademarks.
- Lead boards and committees effectively, delivering orientation programs and fostering leadership pipelines through structured development programs and nomination processes aligned with strategic goals.
- Manage the organization's finances by preparing and administering annual budgets, ensuring timely and transparent financial reporting to the board, maintaining investment policies, and overseeing external audits.
- Ensure accreditation compliance by conducting partnership surveys, reviewing client contracts, and adhering to documentation and file retention policies.
- Oversee educational events and conferences, staying informed on modern online and virtual delivery methods.
- Analyze and lead membership engagement efforts, including regular surveys, stakeholder analyses, and privacy policy management to enhance member value.
- Provide leadership development for staff through annual performance reviews, succession planning, organizational structuring, and supporting professional growth opportunities.
- Maintain the organization's brand integrity by establishing policies for logo use, coordinating media and PR training for volunteers, and enforcing style standards.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor's degree is required, or alternatively, a minimum of ten years of relevant industry experience.
- Certified Association Executive (CAE) credential is preferred.
