Role Overview
We are seeking an Estimator to join our Work Winning Team based in Basingstoke. This role focuses on securing long-term contracts for local authority highways maintenance and improvement schemes across the UK. This position is ideal for individuals who have practical experience in site or engineering roles and are keen to transition into estimating, with a solid grasp of project delivery, risks, and opportunities.
Core Responsibilities
- Prepare, develop, and refine pricing and cost estimates for highways projects.
- Evaluate project risks and uncover potential opportunities to improve bid quality.
- Support the preparation and submission of bids and tender proposals.
- Collaborate with operational teams to develop effective delivery strategies.
- Contribute to winning contracts that maintain and enhance local highway infrastructure.
Candidate Profile
- Experience in highways maintenance, civil engineering, site delivery, commercial management, procurement, or local authority services.
- Strong ability to analyze project information and delivery methodologies.
- Skill in identifying potential risks and delivery challenges, as well as opportunities for improvement.
- Enjoy working collaboratively to devise solutions and prepare competitive submissions.
- Motivated to build a long-term career in estimating, bidding, and securing projects.
