Job description

Role Overview

As an Engineering Stores Specialist at Coca-Cola's Ballina site, you will be integral in ensuring the consistent availability and accurate management of essential spare parts and materials crucial for seamless operations. This hands-on position is located at the plant, merging inventory management expertise, technical coordination, and collaborative efforts with maintenance, production, and finance teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Procure spare parts effectively while negotiating with suppliers to ensure best prices and quality.
  • Inspect incoming deliveries and store materials accurately within the engineering stores.
  • Maintain and update material master information in SAP, including pricing and restock levels.
  • Handle goods movements and coordinate returns for repair or refurbishment purposes.
  • Conduct monthly cycle counts to identify and rectify inventory variances swiftly.
  • Keep detailed records related to supplier quotations, purchase documentation, and monthly performance metrics.
  • Engage with cross-functional teams such as maintenance, production, warehouse, and finance to support smooth plant operations.
  • Work closely with Accounts Payable to address and resolve invoice or freight-related issues.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Possession of a National Certificate or Diploma in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or related fields, or equivalent practical experience.
  • A minimum of three years' experience in inventory control, engineering stores, or plant-based manufacturing environments; experience in food or pharmaceutical sectors is advantageous.
  • Competence with SAP systems, particularly materials management and maintenance modules, alongside proficiency in MS Office applications.
  • Basic technical knowledge of engineering parts and components to effectively communicate with vendors and technical personnel.
  • Strong organizational capabilities, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience working in compliance-driven settings with audit and reporting responsibilities.
  • Digital literacy with the ability to leverage data to enhance process accuracy and efficiency.
