Role Overview
The Engineering Manager will lead and mentor cross-functional engineering teams responsible for COP28 DUBAI UAE's platforms, technology tools, and infrastructure. This position operates on a part-time basis with a hybrid work model based in Dubai, blending onsite collaboration with remote work as project demands dictate.
Responsibilities
- Plan, supervise, and manage engineering projects ensuring timely and quality delivery.
- Guide and support software development efforts across multiple teams.
- Oversee system integrations spanning diverse platforms to ensure cohesive operations.
- Align technical solutions with organizational goals and strategic objectives.
- Mentor team members fostering best practices and continuous improvement.
- Collaborate closely with product and operations stakeholders for coordinated efforts.
- Monitor project timelines, manage quality assurance processes, and identify and mitigate risks.
- Review architectural and design decisions to maintain scalable, sustainable solutions.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical challenges as they arise.
Qualifications & Skills
- Proven leadership in engineering management with the ability to cultivate a collaborative team culture.
- Strong software development expertise, familiar with modern tools, practices, and system architectures.
- Project management proficiency, including thorough planning and stakeholder coordination for complex projects.
- Experience in systems integration involving connection of services, systems, and data flows across varied environments.
- Background in large-scale event management, public sector initiatives, sustainability, or climate-focused projects is advantageous.
- Excellent communication skills with ability to engage stakeholders and solve problems within multicultural teams.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Capacity to balance priorities and meet deadlines independently in a part-time, hybrid Dubai-based role.
