Emergency Food Responder

Role Overview

The Emergency Food Responder serves as a key frontline contact for individuals and families accessing Auckland City Mission's Food Security services. This position involves a range of duties including direct engagement at the front desk, managing phone communications, carrying out administrative tasks, and facilitating the distribution of emergency food supplies.

Responsibilities

• Greet and assist whānau warmly and respectfully without judgment.
• Provide clear information about food support services and the procedures involved.
• Support the food parcel distribution process efficiently.
• Ensure data is accurately entered and records maintained properly.
• Handle incoming calls promptly and courteously.

Candidate Profile

• Experience in frontline environments such as customer service, community support, administration, hospitality, or reception is essential.
• Demonstrated commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi and alignment with Auckland City Mission's values: Manaakitanga, Atawhai, Rangapū, Mana Tika, and Mana Ōrite.
• Proficient computer skills, especially in administration and data entry.
• Possession of a full New Zealand Driver Licence.
• Recognizes that relevant skills might come from various avenues including paid employment, volunteering, church or marae activities, iwi or whānau obligations, or other community involvement.
