About the Role

ENGIE Saudi Arabia is seeking an Electrical Technician to join their team in Al Jubayl, Saudi Arabia. This role plays a crucial part in maintaining the electrical infrastructure of a Combined Cycle Power Plant (CCPP) and Desalination Plant. The technician is responsible for safe, efficient, and reliable plant operations by handling preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on electrical systems and equipment. You’ll collaborate with your team to resolve faults swiftly and ensure ongoing production of power and water, adhering strictly to safety and company protocols.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure routine and non-routine compliance with the Integrated Management System (IMS).
  • Hands-on maintenance of electrical equipment, guided by training and experience.
  • Organize tools, spares, and other required materials for maintenance tasks.
  • Perform preventive and corrective activities on key electrical systems, following manufacturers’ manuals and best industrial practices.
  • Independently troubleshoot equipment issues, identify faults, and rectify defects.
  • Work with plant operations teams to address issues with control equipment, under direction from supervisors.
  • Support and foster a strong safety culture, participating in safety briefings and incident investigations.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate records for all performed maintenance tasks and update the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
  • Pursue ongoing technical skill development by participating in company-offered training programs.
  • Demonstrate initiative by carrying out tasks with minimal supervision and adhering to all company protocols.
  • Obtain required permit authorizations before performing electrical work.
  • Be available for emergency call-outs to support the plant's 24-hour operational demands.
  • Conduct work using safe isolation practices and uphold health and safety requirements.
  • Must possess a valid Saudi driving license and preferably reside in Jubail for prompt response in emergencies.

Physical & Health Requirements

  • Medically fit to work in power plant environments, including exposure to high voltage, noise, heat, and confined spaces.
  • Ability to stand, walk, and climb for prolonged periods as part of inspection and supervisory duties.
  • Comfortable working at heights, on scaffolds, or using overhead cranes.
  • Capable of lifting and moving electrical gear weighing between 20 to 25 kg.
  • Good vision (corrected if necessary), hearing, and hand-eye coordination are essential.
  • Rapid and safe response in emergencies and the ability to handle physically demanding schedules, including rotating shifts and extended hours.
  • No medical conditions that could affect alertness or the safe execution of duties.
