Electrical Instrumentation Apprentice

Program Overview

This Electrical Instrumentation Apprenticeship spans four years, aligning with the Standards-Based Apprenticeship Scheme, and blends practical workplace experience with structured academic learning. Apprentices will train both onsite at Coca-Cola Ballina and at a partnering educational institution to build the technical expertise and hands-on skills necessary for a prosperous career in electrical instrumentation.

Key Responsibilities

• Consistently comply with health and safety protocols.
• Acquire understanding and operational knowledge of plant equipment, including installation, maintenance, calibration, and repairs.
• Apply troubleshooting and problem-solving skills to address electrical, mechanical, and instrumentation equipment challenges.
• Execute both planned and reactive maintenance on operational machinery.
• Focus on enhancing equipment performance and reducing downtime.
• Accurately use computerized maintenance management systems to document activities.
• Utilize mathematical principles to address technical or scientific problems.
• Interpret and read technical drawings and diagrams effectively.
• Engage in Agile methodologies during work processes.
• Show eagerness to learn new competencies and strive for continual development throughout the apprenticeship.

Qualification and Eligibility Criteria

• Must have completed Leaving Certificate or an approved equivalent, achieving at least Grade C in five subjects including Mathematics, English, and an Engineering or Science subject.
• Pass Ishihara color vision test consistent with EI Generation Apprenticeship requirements.
• Applicants must be 18 years or older by August 12, 2026.

Location and Additional Information

This apprenticeship is based in Ballina, County Mayo, Ireland. Travel commitments range from 0% to 25%. There is no relocation assistance provided. The application deadline is August 11, 2026.
