Role overview
This full-time remote position is for an Economics Tutor working UK shift hours. The tutor will teach live Economics sessions for school-age students in line with UK curriculum expectations, covering both microeconomics and macroeconomics. The role involves planning lessons, explaining concepts clearly, and using interactive online tools to keep learners engaged in a virtual classroom setting.
Key responsibilities
- Plan and deliver live Economics lessons online, aligned with UK academic standards.
- Teach both microeconomics and macroeconomics topics to learners at different levels.
- Prepare lesson materials, examples, and explanations that make complex ideas easy to understand.
- Use digital teaching tools and virtual classroom features to encourage participation.
- Track student performance through quizzes, assignments, and feedback.
- Adapt teaching methods based on individual learner needs and progress.
- Keep accurate records of student activity and progress.
- Communicate regularly with students and guardians as needed.
- Work with the academic team to refine course content and improve teaching practices.
Requirements
- Strong command of Economics, with solid knowledge of both microeconomics and macroeconomics.
- Good mathematical ability to handle the quantitative side of the subject.
- Clear and effective communication skills for explaining difficult concepts simply.
- Prior experience in online tutoring or classroom teaching, ideally following UK school standards.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Economics, Mathematics, Education, or a related discipline.
- Comfort using online teaching platforms, whiteboards, and other virtual classroom tools.
- Availability to work reliably during UK shift hours from a remote setup.
- Strong organization, time management, and attention to detail.
