Position Overview
We are seeking a Director of Technology Solutions to steer the strategic and operational management of our technology infrastructure, data systems, and enterprise applications. This role requires a technologist and solutions architect mindset to design, deploy, and maintain secure, scalable, and reliable platforms supporting our learners and operations. The Director will manage core systems based on .NET, SQL Server, Microsoft Azure, and Microsoft Dynamics CRM, guide architectural and vendor decisions, and ensure accountability among technical teams. Close collaboration with instructional design leadership will ensure seamless integration of new learning tools.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the strategic and operational management of IT infrastructure, software development, and data systems ensuring reliability, scalability, and security of enterprise platforms including .NET applications, Azure environment, SQL Server, and Dynamics CRM.
- Partner with technical managers to make architectural and platform decisions and oversee data governance and system integrity.
- Evaluate vendor options and make recommendations regarding build vs. buy approaches and budget planning.
- Implement delivery processes covering project intake, prioritization, release management, and chargeback budgeting.
- Ensure smooth IT operations supporting daily organizational needs and resolve significant technical issues promptly.
- Prepare and lead crisis response scenarios for staff readiness.
- Directly manage and develop technology leadership including IT Operations Manager, Senior Manager of Data Systems, and Manager of Software Development fostering culture, accountability, and career development.
- Build trust and empower teams across technical specializations to maintain strong collaboration and continuous improvement.
- Ensure business continuity through documentation and cross-training of critical functions.
- Serve as a strategic advisor to senior leadership on technology and data to drive organizational goals and participate in budgeting and planning processes.
- Oversee interactions with external vendors and consultants as required.
Requirements
- A minimum of 7 years in technology leadership with at least 2 years managing multi-disciplinary teams spanning infrastructure, engineering, and data functions.
- Proven experience managing enterprise application architecture including .NET, Azure, and SQL Server and ensuring technical delivery accountability.
- Familiarity or proven experience working closely with CRM platforms, preferably Microsoft Dynamics CRM.
- Strong capability to lead functions beyond one's core technical area by setting direction and building trust with experts.
- Ability to translate complex and ambiguous business needs into well-defined technical solutions, budgets, and project plans.
- Excellent communication skills, including presenting to executive leadership.
- Preferred experience in education technology, workforce development, healthcare, or nonprofit sectors.
- Prior experience in data governance and analytic/reporting platforms is advantageous.
- Experience building or scaling a technology function in organizations lacking mature technology leadership is a plus.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, or related field or equivalent work experience required; advanced degrees or certifications such as MBA, MSIS, CSPO, Pragmatic Institute certification, PMP, or ITIL Foundation preferred.
Additional Information
- This is a full-time, exempt role with potential for irregular hours including occasional nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Position is fully remote but requires biannual travel to in-person organizational events in spring and fall for strategic alignment and collaboration.

Compensation
The annual salary range is $145,000 to $175,000.
