Position Overview
This role is offered through a partner company and is based in Canada. The Director, Social Impact will spearhead the development and execution of community-driven initiatives within a rapidly growing, innovative setting. This contract position, lasting approximately 16 months, entails directing the rollout of a multi-year social impact plan focused on enhancing financial literacy and inclusivity.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the execution of social impact projects, ensuring alignment with strategic goals and timely delivery.
- Forge and sustain effective cross-department collaborations among product, marketing, communications, and community engagement teams.
- Create and implement governance standards, operational workflows, and scalable frameworks to support multi-team efforts.
- Manage community partnerships and grant-making programs to foster impactful external collaborations.
- Oversee foundation-related operations, including governance, financial audits, reporting, and fund distribution.
- Provide leadership to a small team focused on social impact initiatives, ensuring engagement and continuity.
- Direct employee resource group programs and evaluate their organizational influence.
- Utilize technology and AI tools to enhance program management, budgeting, reporting, and operational efficiency.
Qualifications and Experience
- At least 8 years in social impact roles such as community investment, corporate foundations, CSR, or related areas, with experience in launching or managing new programs.
- Demonstrated expertise in foundation administration, financial governance, grant oversight, or corporate philanthropic activities.
- Proven ability to lead multifaceted projects engaging diverse stakeholders and functions.
- Experience in developing and managing partnerships with nonprofits or community organizations.
- Leadership experience with teams or programs that drive employee engagement or volunteer initiatives.
- Strong financial management skills including monitoring budgets and ensuring fiscal accountability across projects.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills tailored to senior leadership and governance audiences.
- Ability to thrive in ambiguous, evolving environments, balancing strategic planning with hands-on execution.
- Background in technology companies, CSR sectors, youth-focused programs, or AI-supported operational processes is a plus.
