About the Role

A leading public institution is looking for a seasoned, highly competent, and achievement-driven individual to take on the role of Director of Administration and Human Resource. The primary goal of this role is to provide expert leadership and administrative oversight to maximize the efficiency and effectiveness of the organization's human resource and administrative functions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Contribute technical guidance in policy formulation and review processes.
  • Lead the execution, oversight, and assessment of the Directorate’s programs and initiatives.
  • Manage human, financial, and material resources efficiently within the Directorate and across the organization.
  • Steer the creation and enforcement of HR and administrative policies, systems, and procedures manuals.
  • Supervise organizational structuring, human resource planning, and enhancement of the human resource management information system (HRMIS).
  • Coordinate and evaluate training and development frameworks and plans.
  • Manage planning mechanisms for staff succession and ensure seamless exit strategies.
  • Oversee the formulation and application of welfare, health, safety, disciplinary, and ethical policies.
  • Maintain strategic relationships with government ministries, departments, agencies, and other stakeholders on HR and administrative issues.
  • Organize and supervise meetings, conferences, and workshops effectively.
  • Ensure resource planning for organizational activities, including estate, transportation, ICT, and logistics management.
  • Lead the development and periodic review of compensation and benefits policies.
  • Partner with governmental, international, public, and private entities to fulfill Directorate mandates.
  • Oversee implementation of organizational performance management systems.
  • Prepare budgets, work plans, and regular reports for the Directorate.

Required Qualifications and Experience

  • Possess a master’s degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Human Resource Management, Social Sciences, or related fields from an accredited institution.
  • Must be certified and registered with a relevant recognized professional organization.
  • Minimum of 10 years of applicable post-bachelor’s experience, including at least 5 years in senior management roles within reputable organizations.

  • Thorough understanding of Ghanaian financial management laws and associated regulations.
  • Familiarity and working knowledge of pertinent IT applications.
