Role Overview and Responsibilities

The Digital Transformation Product Manager will act as a key agent in turning Inkomoko's strategic goals into digital solutions tailored to refugee and low-income entrepreneurs across several countries. This role requires merging human-centered design, business insights, and practical product execution to create solutions that are practical, accessible, and scalable across various operational contexts.

Key duties include leading the design, development, and enhancement of digital platforms facilitating access to financial services, training, advisory assistance, and market connections for refugee and host community entrepreneurs. This encompasses digital lending applications, financial literacy tools, business management software, and credit assessment data systems.

Principal Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive user research and convert findings into prioritized product requirement documents (PRDs) and user stories.
  • Engage continuously with cross-functional teams including Engineering, UX/UI, Data, and business stakeholders.
  • Manage sprint planning, backlog refinement, user acceptance testing (UAT), and product launch activities.
  • Track and enhance product adoption, user satisfaction, and overall impact after deployment.
  • Ensure compliance with intellectual property policies and regulatory standards throughout all deliverables.
  • Formulate and advocate a clear product vision aimed at enhancing financial inclusion and business support for refugee and economically vulnerable entrepreneurs.
  • Develop strategic product roadmaps aligned with organizational objectives, targeting measurable social impact.
  • Pinpoint innovation opportunities within digital lending, credit scoring alternatives, business training, and marketplace linkages.
  • Perform field research, interviews, and usability testing with refugee, host community, and micro-enterprise users.
  • Collaborate with program teams and frontline staff to identify operational and user challenges.
  • Apply design-thinking to ascertain user requirements and create journey maps, prototypes, and user flows ensuring inclusivity for low-literacy and low-tech users.
  • Translate research insights into detailed PRDs, user stories, wireframes, and specifications leveraging AI tools to expedite documentation and testing.
  • Oversee the iterative development and rollout of new product features including loan applications, scoring engines, dashboards, and training modules.
  • Lead agile workflow ceremonies and maintain a prioritized product backlog.
  • Coordinate closely with program, finance, monitoring and evaluation, and field teams to align product features with programmatic and compliance needs.
  • Manage relationships with external fintech partners, mobile network operators, and technology vendors.
  • Communicate product progress, risks, and timelines effectively to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Define and monitor key product performance indicators including loan conversions, digital adoption rates, repayment success, user engagement, and learning outcomes.
  • Utilize data analysis and user feedback to drive continuous product improvements and ensure system reliability and security.
  • Oversee compliance with data protection, safeguarding policies, and donor requirements.
  • Facilitate training and change management during product rollouts for field teams, credit officers, and end users.
  • Create comprehensive product documentation, user guides, and playbooks.
  • Lead pilot programs, A/B testing, and scaling strategies for digital tools providing lending and business support.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Between 5 to 7 years of experience in product management or business analysis.
  • Background preferred in financial inclusion, microfinance, digital lending, social impact technologies, or SME support solutions.
  • Demonstrated success in delivering digital products across web, mobile, or internal applications.
  • Strong expertise in agile methodologies, user research, and product analytics.
  • Experience working in fintech, financial inclusion sectors, or multi-country settings is advantageous.
  • Exposure to low-income or refugee communities is desirable.
  • Knowledge of integrating fintech components including mobile money, USSD, credit scoring, CRM, or learning management systems is a plus.
