Role overview
HPS Tech is seeking a skilled Mechanical Drafter to support engineering initiatives by producing precise technical drawings and plans for a range of mechanical systems and parts. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working closely with engineers, contributing to advanced projects, and operating in a lively, collaborative environment.
Key responsibilities
- Create detailed mechanical drawings using CAD tools, including part drawings, assembly drawings, schematics, and diagrams.
- Review engineering sketches, specifications, and related technical material, then convert them into accurate drafting outputs.
- Work alongside engineers and designers to clarify project needs and ensure all designs align with required technical standards.
- Update and refine drawings as feedback is received and designs evolve.
- Keep drawing records and project documentation well organized and up to date.
- Support the evaluation of designs for performance, manufacturability, and compliance with relevant rules and standards.
- Take part in design review discussions and contribute ideas to improve efficiency and overall design quality.
Qualifications
- A bachelor’s qualification in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related discipline is required.
- Prior experience in a Mechanical Drafter role, or a similar drafting position within engineering or manufacturing, is expected.
- Strong working knowledge of CAD platforms such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or comparable software is essential.
- Good understanding of mechanical concepts, materials, and production processes is needed.
- High attention to detail and strong accuracy in drafting and documentation are important.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills are required for cross-functional collaboration.
- Awareness of industry standards and regulations connected to mechanical design and drafting is preferred.
- The ideal candidate should be self-driven and eager to keep learning and innovating.
