Design Coordinator - Data Center

Role overview

Our client is hiring a Design Coordinator to support a fast-growing international team that delivers cloud and AI data center projects across the Middle East, Europe, and the USA. The role focuses on keeping multidisciplinary design work aligned, technically sound, and consistent with project and client expectations.

Applicants with direct data center exposure are preferred. However, the role is also open to professionals who have worked on other complex, MEP-heavy, mission-critical, industrial, healthcare, pharmaceutical, or similar project types.

What you will do

• Bring together input from architectural, civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, ICT, BIM, and specialist design teams across the project lifecycle.
• Examine drawings, BIM models, specifications, schedules, and technical documents to spot clashes, missing information, and coordination issues.
• Take part in design reviews, technical discussions, and coordination workshops.
• Monitor RFIs, technical queries, design comments, drawing revisions, and consultant replies so issues are closed out on time.
• Manage BIM model exchanges, clash checks, and interface coordination between disciplines.
• Assist design managers and discipline leads with planning, coordination, and project execution.
• Confirm that all design deliverables are complete, coordinated, and aligned with project scope and client standards.
• Help construction and site teams resolve design-related technical questions.
• Keep coordination logs, action trackers, review comments, and documentation up to date in collaboration with document controllers.

Experience and qualifications

The ideal candidate brings 3 to 6 years of experience in design coordination, engineering consultancy, BIM coordination, construction, or multidisciplinary project environments.

A degree, diploma, or equivalent qualification in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, BIM, Project Management, or a related field is preferred, though suitable experience may be accepted instead of formal education.

Professional credentials such as PMP, CAPM, PRINCE2, APM, or similar are considered an advantage.

Membership in recognised professional bodies such as APM, CIOB, CIBSE, IET, IMechE, RIBA, or equivalent is desirable.

BIM or Common Data Environment certification is also beneficial.

Previous data center project experience is helpful but not mandatory.

Skills and capabilities

• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, BIM models, schedules, and other design documentation.
• Working understanding of coordination across architectural, civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, ICT, and specialist systems.
• Exposure to BIM coordination and Common Data Environment processes.
• Hands-on familiarity with Revit, Navisworks, AutoCAD, and Autodesk Construction Cloud.
• Strong planning and organisation skills for managing several priorities at once.
• Confident communication and stakeholder coordination skills.
• Detail-oriented approach with disciplined tracking of actions and records.
• Analytical thinking and problem-solving ability to identify and escalate coordination risks.
• Comfortable working both independently and within multidisciplinary teams.
• Strong written and spoken English communication skills.

Compensation

Salary offered is QAR 10,000 to QAR 15,000 per month.
