Role Overview
As a Dental Assistant, you will support dentists in various clinical procedures, ensuring seamless patient care and operational efficiency within the dental clinic based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide hands-on assistance to the dentist during examinations, treatments, and surgical interventions.
- Prepare treatment rooms ahead of procedures, ensuring all necessary instruments and materials are ready and sterile.
- Perform sterilization and disinfection of dental instruments following strict infection control guidelines.
- Support dental procedures by preparing materials and helping with dental impressions when applicable.
- Assist in capturing and developing dental X-rays while adhering to safety standards.
- Welcome patients, prepare them for treatments, convey treatment information, and offer guidance on pre- and post- operative care.
- Monitor patient comfort continuously during procedures and provide reassurance as necessary.
- Maintain precise and up-to-date patient records and documentation of treatments.
- Manage inventory by tracking dental supplies and ensuring sufficient stock is maintained; report issues promptly.
- Verify that dental equipment remains clean, functional, and properly serviced, reporting any malfunctions to management.
- Adhere rigorously to infection prevention policies and health and safety protocols, including proper disposal of medical waste.
- Assist with administrative duties such as updating patient information in the clinic's management system and coordinating with reception staff regarding scheduling and workflow.
Qualifications and Required Skills
- Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Dental Assisting or a closely related healthcare discipline.
- Valid professional license or classification, when mandated by local laws.
- Preferably at least one year of experience working in a dental clinical setting.
- Comprehensive understanding of dental instruments, procedures, and infection control protocols.
- Capability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
- Excellent communication abilities combined with strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
- Computer proficiency and familiarity with dental clinic management software.
- Professional demeanor with meticulous attention to detail and the capacity to perform effectively under pressure.
