Role Overview
The Demand & Inventory Planning Manager will spearhead the integrated demand and inventory planning processes. This role involves setting forecasting standards, methodologies, and managing inventory strategies such as Target Stock Levels and regional safety stocks to optimize stock availability and investment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development of rolling forecasts using AI/ML and advanced statistical and analytical methods.
- Manage the Demand Review governance within Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) and forecasting meetings.
- Ensure demand plans align with budgetary objectives and the three-year strategic plan.
- Define and oversee Target Stock Level methodologies across store networks, aligning with service and financial goals.
- Analyze inventory trends and recommend structural improvements to balance stock availability and investment.
- Coordinate cross-departmentally with Sales, Marketing, Supply Planning, Merchandising, and Distribution Planning to maintain demand-supply alignment and optimize inventory.
- Communicate assumptions, risks, and opportunities related to demand and inventory to senior leadership to aid decision-making.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of demand and inventory planners, establishing clear objectives and performance metrics.
- Develop expertise, tools, and KPIs for demand and inventory planning functions.
- Continuously challenge existing processes to enhance efficiency and encourage innovation.
Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Economics, or a related field.
- Extensive experience in Supply Chain Planning roles, specifically with demand planning and team leadership.
- Strong knowledge of planning techniques and models.
- Effective project management skills.
- Financial acumen including budget alignment, working capital management, and understanding financial impacts.
- Proficiency in quantitative data analysis and statistical techniques.
- Experience with simulation and scenario analysis methods.
- Fluency in English; knowledge of Italian is an added advantage.
