Role Overview
As a Delivery & Installation Driver, you will be a vital member of a skilled two-person team responsible for completing 10 to 15 deliveries daily, including the installation of furniture within customers' homes. This role is hands-on and physically demanding, involving frequent lifting of heavy furnishings and maneuvering through stairs and confined spaces. Pride in your work and a commitment to doing things correctly will help you thrive in this position.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver all furniture safely and professionally into customers' homes.
- Communicate proactively with customers before arrival to keep them informed.
- Ensure goods are delivered to the specified room and leave premises free of any debris or rubbish.
- Embody and represent the core values of The Sofa Delivery Company and its partner brands.
- Collaborate with teammates and management to provide feedback and enhance service quality continually.
- Perform daily checks on allocated vehicles and equipment, promptly reporting any defects or missing items.
- Adhere strictly to government driving laws and company policies throughout all duties.
Eligibility and Requirements
- Possess a valid driving licence held for at least 12 months with a maximum of 6 penalty points.
- Have no prior experience is necessary; full paid training will be provided.
- Enjoy working within a supportive two-person team environment.
- Be comfortable physically lifting and installing heavy furniture in various home settings.
- Demonstrate excellent customer service skills and take pride in safe working practices.
Work Schedule
This permanent role offers a reliable rotating schedule of 7am to 7pm shifts, followed by 4 days off, averaging 39.35 hours each week. This shift pattern provides a highly balanced work-life schedule equivalent to working less than six months per year and includes annual leave.
