About the Role
Philip Morris International is undergoing a significant transformation aimed at creating a smoke-free future. We are seeking a Data Scientist who will play a pivotal role in enhancing business decision-making through advanced analytics, machine learning, and AI-driven techniques. This role offers the opportunity to engage in Data Science, Data Engineering, and Business Analytics, collaborating closely with business stakeholders to convert data into actionable insights, predictive modeling, and scalable solutions that generate tangible commercial outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Translate complex business questions into analytical approaches and clear actionable recommendations.
- Deliver regular performance insights to senior leadership, emphasizing drivers, risks, as well as opportunities and proposed actions.
- Create engaging dashboards and visual reports utilizing Power BI.
- Track key business metrics and spot emerging trends for business growth.
- Develop diagnostic, predictive, and prescriptive analytical models aiding business decisions.
- Construct forecasting and segmentation models alongside analytical frameworks to boost commercial performance.
- Deploy and oversee analytics solutions to maintain efficacy and promote user adoption.
- Collaborate with data engineering teams to improve scalable analytics and data infrastructure.
- Design AI-powered workflows to automate reporting, insight derivation, analysis, and other business activities.
- Create reusable AI components that enhance organizational productivity and decision quality.
- Advocate for responsible and secure AI implementation per organizational standards.
- Liaise with Commercial, Marketing, Finance, and Operations teams to address business challenges through data-driven methods.
- Communicate complex technical insights in a clear, non-technical manner suitable for business stakeholders.
- Foster a culture emphasizing analytics and AI best practices within the company.
Candidate Profile
- Minimum of 3 years of experience within FMCG or consulting environments delivering analytics that drive commercial decisions.
- Proven track record in creating end-to-end analytics solutions from initial problem framing to deployment and sustained use by stakeholders.
- Strong communicator able to simplify technical insights for diverse audiences.
- Familiarity with analytics, data science, and data engineering workflows and tools.
- Strong commercial acumen with enthusiasm for resolving business problems using data.
Technical Proficiencies
- Python programming
- Power BI including data modeling and dashboard creation
- Snowflake cloud data platform
- AWS SageMaker for machine learning solutions
Preferred Skills
- Experience with dbt, Matillion, Airflow, API integrations, or contemporary data pipeline technologies
- Knowledge or experience in Generative AI, prompt engineering, or autonomous AI systems
- Background working within cloud-based analytics ecosystems
