About the Role

Savi Technologies is seeking a seasoned Data Modeller for contract positions based in Bangalore and Bhubaneswar. This role involves defining enterprise-level data modeling standards — encompassing conceptual, logical, and physical data models that support governed, high-performance, and reusable data products on the Snowflake platform. You will translate business concepts and critical data elements into comprehensive star schemas, vault/3NF designs, and semantic definitions that are consistent, well-documented, and user-friendly. Your models will integrate seamlessly with cataloging, lineage tracking, quality assurance, and access controls.

Key Responsibilities

• Collect and analyze data requirements, along with data flows between systems.
• Convert database needs into logical data models.
• Create physical data models to optimize database structure.
• Enhance database performance through strategic indexing and table relationships.
• Identify data trends, generate reports, and provide insights for internal and external stakeholders.
• Design and maintain data architecture and develop logical/physical models for databases and warehouses.
• Develop, implement, and maintain data warehouses integrating multiple sources within the organization.
• Formulate strategies for data acquisition, archiving, recovery, and database implementation.
• Manage data migration and conversion processes; troubleshoot data processing challenges.
• Apply advanced expertise obtained through education and experience.
• Operate independently with minimal supervision.
• Coach and review team members' work.

Qualifications

• A minimum of 6 years’ experience in data modeling across relational databases (RDBMS), OLAP systems, data warehouses, and data marts.
• At least 3 years experience modeling data lineage and schema translation across diverse systems.
• 2+ years of software development experience working with Snowflake, DBT, Semantic Views, and Cortex AI.
• Proficiency with JIRA within Agile project environments.
• Strong goal-setting ability and capability to work with limited oversight.
• Excellent critical thinking and analytical skills.
• Results-oriented mindset with prioritization, initiative-taking, and ownership qualities.
• Exceptional interpersonal skills including communication, mentoring, conflict resolution, facilitation, leadership by example, work ethic, and emotional intelligence.
• Comfortable working under normal office conditions.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related discipline such as Information Systems, Mathematics, or Software Engineering.
