The National Domestic Workers Alliance (NDWA) is the foremost national advocate championing respect, dignity, and recognition for domestic workers across the United States. Founded in 2007 by workers and organizers from six cities representing nannies, house cleaners, and care workers, NDWA has grown to an alliance of over 76 organizations spanning 22 states and representing nearly 395,000 domestic workers. The organization envisions a society where domestic work is acknowledged as vital for collective well-being, with workers leading and shaping the care sector and enjoying economically secure jobs.
For more than 15 years, NDWA has driven visibility, policy reforms, public awareness, and leadership development in domestic worker communities, aiming to transform the sector and elevate care workers as essential contributors to the modern economy. The organization embraces a diverse, multilingual membership rooted in human rights, equality, and dignity.
Position Summary
NDWA and Care in Action seek an experienced Data Manager to support their 2026 program and infrastructure goals. Reporting to the Director of Data and Analytics, the Data Manager will advance data-driven organizing strategies to empower workers and communities of color. This role collaborates across teams to optimize organizing platforms and use CRM and voter file data effectively across various political action efforts.
Primary Responsibilities (70% Focus)
- Lead project management efforts to assist data, digital, and field teams; develop project plans, timelines, and maintain systems like AirTable or Asana ensuring deadlines and organizational goals are met.
- Direct voter contact strategies under leadership guidance by analyzing data, coordinating efforts, creating SQL queries, maintaining voter contact lists, and advising staff on communications based on campaign phases and best data practices.
- Manage voter file access alongside IT for internal teams and partners, ensuring data accuracy, training support, and monitoring vendor deliverables.
- Oversee the overhaul and management of EveryAction data workflows to comply with multi-entity organizational standards and encourage adoption of improved data practices.
- Promote and incorporate best practices by attending industry events and maintaining comprehensive documentation including data dictionaries and analysis notes.
- Manage the Jira ticketing system by updating request protocols, assigning tasks, setting timelines, and providing user support on technical issues.
- Collaborate with organizing teams to establish data collection standards and enhance adoption of data systems and methods.
Secondary Responsibilities (20% Focus)
- Assist in the development of reporting infrastructure and dashboards, contributing to code reviews, testing, troubleshooting, and sharing best practices.
- Maintain and create updated documentation for technology and data processes in the shared drive.
- Offer data management support including survey and automation advice, annual audits of platforms, and technical consultations.
- Support coalition partners to optimize shared voter data usage, align targeting approaches, and disseminate best practices across groups.
- Provide field team support by building relationships, troubleshooting voter files, and designing compliant organizing journeys that reduce manual data maintenance burdens.
Organizational Responsibilities (10% Focus)
- Engage in staff meetings, retreats, and strategic discussions to develop and execute plans.
- Assist with contract management, scope definitions, onboarding and sunsetting of organizing platforms.
- Meet work plan deadlines and participate in professional development initiatives.
- Demonstrate flexibility to work extended hours including evenings and weekends as needed.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Additional Information
This position is exempt and full-time, aligned with the Program/Project Manager career family. The role is designated as a bargaining unit (union) position.
