Data Engineer, Product Analytics (University Graduate)

Role Overview

As a Data Engineer focusing on Product Analytics at Meta, you will have an integral role in shaping the data ecosystem that powers products such as Facebook, Instagram, Messenger, WhatsApp, Reality Labs, and Threads. Working alongside cross-functional teams, you'll design and build expansive data solutions to inform strategic initiatives that impact billions of users and internal stakeholders across the globe.

Key Duties

• Create, optimize, and implement data warehouse strategies for specific products, providing solutions to clearly-defined business challenges.
• Evaluate business problems to determine necessary data points and develop logging mechanisms to ensure high-quality data is available, working with infrastructure teams to resolve issues as they arise.
• Work collaboratively with engineers, product managers, and data scientists to define data needs and represent impactful insights effectively.
• Develop deep expertise in data operations, ensuring privacy, compliance, security, and data quality for designated data areas.
• Architect and implement new data models, pipelines, and interactive visualizations using modern development toolkits to support production environments.
• Independently develop and deploy extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) processes, while advising others on query efficiency and optimization.
• Maintain, support, and improve existing data processes within production, proactively implementing more effective solutions with minimal oversight.
• Establish and manage Service Level Agreements (SLAs) for assigned datasets, ensuring reliability and quality benchmarks are met.

Minimum Qualifications

• Currently pursuing or possessing a Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical discipline. Degree must be completed before beginning employment.
• Proficiency in SQL for querying and data manipulation.
• Experience programming with Python.
• Understanding of database architectures and principles.
• Authorization to work in the relevant country at the time of hire and for the duration of employment.

Compensation and Benefits

The base annual salary for this role ranges from $99,008 to $139,000. Additional compensation may come in the form of bonuses, equity, and a comprehensive benefits package. Individual compensation is based on qualifications, skills, experience, and work location.
