Role Overview
The Data Engineer focusing on Data Platforms will be responsible for developing applications utilizing Big Data technologies, including API development. This role demands a solid background in conventional application development paired with familiarity in analytics libraries, open-source Natural Language Processing (NLP), and statistical as well as big data computing libraries.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and build applications leveraging Big Data technologies with an emphasis on API development and traditional software development best practices.
- Create and troubleshoot complex code to ensure delivery of high-quality, reliable solutions.
- Apply expertise in open-source NLP tools and statistical computing libraries to strengthen data platform capabilities.
Educational Requirements
- Mandatory: Bachelor's Degree
- Preferred: Master's Degree
Required Skills and Experience
- Hands-on experience in traditional application development frameworks with strong software principles.
- Proficiency in Big Data technologies including data processing frameworks and API creation.
- Knowledge of analytics libraries and their integration within data platforms.
- Experience with open-source NLP tools and techniques for data interpretation and processing.
- Familiarity with statistical and big data computing libraries to enable advanced data processing tasks.
Preferred Qualifications
- Understanding of advanced analytics such as data modeling and machine learning concepts.
- Experience working with cloud-based big data infrastructures, including data warehousing and processing solutions.
- Additional programming languages knowledge, for example Python or R, to support Big Data application development.
Experience
3 to 5 years of relevant professional experience.
