About the Role
Arabian Private Holdings is seeking an analytical intern to support data-driven advisory work for clients. In this position, you will help collect, organize, and interpret information that supports an ongoing strategic operational review for a Birmingham-based partner, contributing directly to decisions that shape future direction.
About Arabian Private Holdings
The firm believes that concise, independent insight is more valuable than oversized teams or lengthy presentations. It works in a principal-led model, where the same experts who analyze the information also share the conclusions with clients. Its advisory work spans corporate strategy and governance for major holding companies and government entities. Operating fully remotely allows the team to focus on analytical quality rather than office administration. The firm selectively accepts assignments where its expertise can drive stronger outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Review datasets to spot patterns that influence the performance of holding company portfolios.
- Support the development of models that help principals assess complex capital allocation decisions.
- Carry out in-depth research on the Birmingham market and related sectors for the current client engagement.
- Clean and process operational data so clients can better understand portfolio position and risk exposure.
- Contribute quantitative evidence for improvements to governance frameworks.
- Work with principals to make sure charts and visual summaries are accurate, straightforward, and uncluttered.
- Maintain internal benchmarking databases used to compare different operating models.
- Draft short, clear memos that turn numerical findings into board-friendly language.
What They Are Looking For
- A solid base in logical thinking and interest in how large organizations operate.
- Working knowledge of analysis tools such as Excel, SQL, or common programming languages, gained through study, projects, or self-learning.
- Strong written communication skills and the ability to present findings without unnecessary jargon.
- A self-directed work style suited to a fully remote environment.
- Enthusiasm to learn about corporate governance and portfolio management.
- Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking figures and calculations thoroughly.
How the Team Works
Because the company is fully remote, communication is primarily written and everyone is expected to take ownership of their work. There are no layers of middle management; interns collaborate directly with principals who are responsible for final client advice. The environment values clear thinking, practical learning, and well-reasoned arguments over presentation length. Training is hands-on and comes from working on live mandates, where data informs strategy for major corporations. The firm places emphasis on analytical quality and strong working relationships instead of traditional office overhead.
What the Role Offers
- Hands-on exposure to high-level corporate strategy for a major Birmingham-based organization.
- Competitive internship compensation for the full duration of the assignment.
- Direct mentorship and honest feedback from experienced partners.
- A remote working setup focused on results and quality of thought.
- Insight into family group governance and large-scale holding company operations.
