Edison Smart collaborates with an expanding IoT technology firm whose smart devices enhance connectivity and intelligence across supply chain products. Their platform is utilized by leading global retail and consumer companies. The Dallas team is rapidly growing to support extensive customer rollouts, operating in a start-up environment alongside an international engineering group.
Role Summary
We are seeking a Data Solutions Analyst to join our expanding data delivery team near Dallas. As a key individual contributor, you will work closely with a cross-functional Scrum team and directly with customers on live IoT deployments. This role blends hands-on technical work with customer interaction at the crossroads of data, operations, and product management.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate directly with customers throughout active projects and deployments
- Observe and assess real-time data streams and system performance across customer environments
- Analyze datasets to detect trends, identify gaps, and spot anomalies in data quality and system operation
- Investigate and perform root cause analysis of issues such as data collection problems, device or tag positioning, configuration gaps, or integration faults
- Convert complex data into clear, actionable insights for customers and internal teams
- Create dashboards and visual visuals to illustrate system performance and business effects
- Work alongside Field Deployment Engineering, Product, and Engineering teams to enhance solutions and resolve deficiencies
- Escalate data or product-related problems and collaborate with internal teams for resolution
- Advise customers and field personnel on best practices to boost deployment efficiency and data integrity
Candidate Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Computer Science, Data Science/Engineering, or a related quantitative field; Master’s degree is a bonus but not mandatory
- At least 2 years of experience in data analysis, technical roles interfacing with customers, or equivalent fields
- Familiarity with big data, data warehousing, operational analytics, and data integration is advantageous
- Proficient in Python programming
- Strong preference for experience working with Apache Spark
- Skilled in BI and visualization tools such as Plotly, Tableau, Power BI, or Grafana, including UI/dashboard design capabilities
- Understanding of statistical methods and relational databases (SQL mandatory; InfluxDB knowledge beneficial)
- Excellent quantitative analytical and problem-solving skills
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication abilities
- Experience with IoT data streams and business applications is a plus
- Must have US work authorization without sponsorship (valid Green Card or US Citizenship)
Additional Information
- Salary: Up to $180,000 base compensation
- Location: Plano, Texas, with a requirement to be onsite 3 days per week
- Benefits include Medical, Dental, Vision coverage, 401(k) with a 3% match, and a monthly $250 food stipend
- Travel expected about 30% within the domestic US to visit customer sites
