About the Role and Team

At Lyft, we strive to serve and connect people by nurturing an inclusive workplace where every team member feels valued and can excel. Our People Analytics team transforms workforce data into trustworthy, insightful analytics empowering HR Business Partners, talent leaders, and executives to make impactful decisions. We're innovating our business intelligence tools by shifting to ThoughtSpot, not merely transferring existing dashboards but redesigning self-service analytics with AI features like natural language querying and proactive insights. This unique opportunity invites an analytic professional to help define the future of AI-powered people analytics at Lyft.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the central liaison for all data inquiries within the People organization, accurately scoping requests, managing expectations, and delivering timely, high-quality analyses.
  • Develop and upkeep ThoughtSpot dashboards accessible to a wide range of stakeholders including recruiters, HR Business Partners, managers, and company executives.
  • Investigate and implement ThoughtSpot's AI features such as Spotter and AI Highlights to proactively generate insights for team members who might not yet know what data questions to ask.
  • Design, distribute, and manage survey programs using Qualtrics, converting results into actionable dashboards and analyses that influence People team decisions.
  • Collaborate with Talent and People leaders to establish key performance metrics and craft compelling data narratives.
  • Communicate data-driven insights clearly to technical teams and senior leadership, bridging the gap between detailed analysis and executive summaries.
  • Work alongside systems and operations teams to enhance data integrity upstream, which improves overall analytics downstream.
  • Compile and synthesize information from diverse sources swiftly to address specific analytical questions.

Required Experience and Skills

  • Minimum of four years in data or business analytics roles.
  • Over three years of proficiency in SQL, adept at querying complex datasets from multiple sources.
  • Practical experience with ThoughtSpot or comparable advanced BI platforms and an eagerness to explore AI capabilities tailored to people data.
  • Understanding of Workday or similar Human Capital Management systems including underlying business processes and data frameworks.
  • Preferred familiarity with Greenhouse or equivalent applicant tracking systems.
  • Hands-on experience managing surveys in Qualtrics or similar platforms and the ability to process raw survey data into refined analyses.
  • Track record in constructing and sustaining reliable analytical models leveraged by stakeholders.
  • Insight into the subtleties of workforce and recruitment data such as organizational structures, headcount metrics, data privacy, and common data anomalies.

Benefits and Workplace Culture

  • Comprehensive health and dental insurance plans, alongside life and disability benefits.
  • Access to mental health support services.
  • Family support including parental leave, family building assistance, and child/pet care benefits.
  • Lyft-funded Health Care Savings Account for personal medical expenses.
  • Retirement savings plan with company matching contributions.
  • Flexible paid time off policy for salaried employees and incremental paid leave for hourly staff.
  • Support for new parents with 18 weeks of paid leave for biological, adoptive, and foster parents.
  • Commuter subsidies and Lyft ride credits to ease transportation.

Additional Information

Lyft is firmly committed to fostering a diverse, equitable, and inclusive workforce. We provide equal employment opportunities without discrimination on various protected grounds and maintain a harassment-free, respectful work environment. Reasonable accommodations for applicants with disabilities are available upon request throughout the recruitment process.

This position requires a hybrid working arrangement based in Toronto, where employees work on-site at least three days per week, specifically Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. This on-site presence supports team collaboration and company culture, with flexibility to work remotely for up to four weeks per year.

The base salary for this position ranges from CAD 90000 to CAD 112500 annually, depending on qualifications, experience, and location, exclusive of equity, bonuses, or additional benefits. Lyft employs AI tools for applicant screening but retains human decision-making authority in hiring.
