Overview
Join us as a Customer Delivery Driver, delivering the exceptional quality of Waitrose's products combined with Partner-led service directly to our customers. Aside from deliveries, you will support the in-store team with daily operations such as restocking and maintaining store cleanliness, contributing positively to the shop's smooth functioning within a friendly and welcoming team environment. Candidates must be 18 years or older for this role.
Key Duties
- Begin your workday in-store preparing for deliveries.
- Review the day’s delivery routes to plan efficient logistics.
- Load the delivery van ensuring all customer orders are complete and organized for prompt delivery.
- Conduct safety and compliance checks on the vehicle to maintain road safety and health standards.
- Represent Waitrose’s brand while driving, prioritizing excellent customer service.
- Assist customers with their shopping needs and build trusting relationships based on service excellence.
- Support the store’s wider team by performing general shopkeeping and housekeeping tasks as needed.
Required Skills and Experience
- Hold a valid UK manual driving licence (category B) with no more than 6 penalty points.
- Demonstrate strong customer service capabilities.
- Possess good time management skills.
- Be physically able to perform tasks such as lifting crates and moving cages.
- Show ability to work independently with high self-motivation and adaptability.
- Basic proficiency in using IT.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a delivery driving role, especially with chilled vehicles, is advantageous.
