Customer Delivery Driver - Altrincham Extra

About the Role

We are seeking reliable Customer Delivery Drivers to support our delivery services in Altrincham. The role involves delivering customer orders on time while providing excellent service and maintaining vehicle cleanliness and safety. Our drivers have the opportunity to interact with customers, ensuring satisfaction with their deliveries and representing Tesco with professionalism and care.

Availability Schedule

• Wednesday: 7:00 PM to 11:00 PM
• Thursday: 7:00 PM to 11:00 PM
• Friday: 7:00 PM to 11:00 PM
• Saturday: 7:00 PM to 11:00 PM

Responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness and organization of delivery van and trays.
• Ensure the delivery yard is left tidy and clear of litter.
• Participate in tray washing processes as required.
• Load the van appropriately and verify vehicle roadworthiness before departure.
• Communicate with customers about order changes, substitutions, and refunds professionally.
• Handle delivered products with care and attention to detail.
• Explain to customers that substitutions will not incur additional charges.
• Deliver orders within the customer's specified time slot.
• Contact customers before arrival if early, and notify the store if running over 30 minutes late.

Candidate Requirements

• Hold a full UK/EU/EEA driving licence (manual or automatic) held for at least 12 months with fewer than 4 penalty points.
• Comply with the GB Domestic Driving Regulations.
• Be warm, welcoming, and customer-focused in all interactions.
• Build strong relationships with colleagues to foster teamwork and enhance the store's service quality.
• Adapt quickly to changing customer needs and embrace workplace changes.
• Be motivated to exceed expectations while balancing work and personal life.
• Offer suggestions for store improvements to management and colleagues.

Compensation and Hours

The pay rate begins at £14.18 per hour and rises to £15.45 per hour for stores inside the M25. Additional location-based payments may apply. Tesco guarantees a minimum of 16 hours per week; however, part-time opportunities from 12 hours weekly are also available. Shift schedules will be provided with three weeks' advance notice, and flexibility in availability is welcomed.
