Job description
Introduction
Calvary Bruce Private Hospital is seeking a CSSD Technician for a permanent, full-time position in Canberra, ACT. Primary Responsibilities
- Perform cleaning, assembly, inspection, wrapping, and sterilisation of surgical instruments and medical equipment within the CSSD and Endoscopy departments.
- Ensure all instrument processing complies with infection control standards and current guidelines.
- Conduct equipment testing as needed and immediately report any abnormalities to the relevant facility authority.
- Carry out tasks in compliance with GESA, GENCA, HICMR, and the Australian Standard AS5369:2023.
Candidate Profile
- Possession of Certificate III in Sterilisation Services or a demonstrated willingness to obtain it.
- Strong communication skills with a collaborative spirit suited for team environments.
- Dedication to ongoing professional development and upholding the values and mission of Calvary Healthcare.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience working in CSSD and/or Endoscopy services.
- A good understanding of the Australian Standard AS5369:2023.
Additional Details
The role requires successful completion of pre-employment screenings, including reference and legal work right checks, background and health clearances (NDIS/WWCC/WWVP), and immunisation verification for COVID-19, influenza, tuberculosis, hepatitis, diphtheria, tetanus, and varicella.
