Role Overview
This leadership position will spearhead Pinterest's most crucial advertiser narratives, crafting keynotes, thought leadership pieces, and executive communications that define the voice of Pinterest to CMOs, agencies, and advertisers. The role centers on strategic storytelling that drives business growth across marketing, sales, and communications.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the Brand Narratives function by establishing creative vision, quality standards, and strategic guidance for major projects like event keynotes, executive messaging, advertiser positioning, industry thought leadership, and broad B2B content initiatives.
- Develop and oversee flagship storytelling moments such as Pinterest Presents, Pinterest Predicts, and other significant events engaging clients, press, and industry leaders.
- Collaborate with C-suite and senior leaders to shape and articulate their thought leadership voices, producing speeches, talking points, and narratives poised for global impact.
- Drive Pinterest's B2B messaging strategy in close cooperation with Product Marketing, Business Marketing, Research, and Legal teams, creating frameworks adopted company-wide.
- Work with creative teams—including designers, writers, producers—to translate narratives into diverse formats like presentations, films, events, digital content, and social media, prioritizing advertiser engagement.
- Lead and mentor a team of senior writers, fostering a productive creative culture and ensuring consistent high-quality editorial output.
- Utilize AI tools adeptly to enhance research, streamline feedback, and accelerate content creation without compromising quality or relevance.
- Collaborate extensively across functions including Brand Research, Partner Insights, Business Marketing, Product Marketing, Communications, Legal, and Operations to ensure cohesive storytelling.
Qualifications and Experience
- Minimum of 10 years' experience, specializing in B2B, advertiser, or marketer-focused storytelling, particularly at the junction of brand narrative and platform marketing.
- A robust portfolio demonstrating ability to simplify complex business and product stories into clear, impactful narratives for senior decision-makers such as CMOs and agency leaders.
- Proven leadership in orchestrating major keynotes, tentpole events, or large-scale B2B campaigns for global brands, especially in technology, platform, or media sectors.
- Exceptional narrative craft and writing skills, adaptable across formats including keynote speeches, sales presentations, and executive communications.
- Strong creative leadership with proven skill in guiding diverse teams and managing senior stakeholder feedback constructively.
- Experienced in leveraging AI tools effectively as a creativity enhancer, while retaining full control of storytelling and final outputs.
- Highly pragmatic with an ability to distill complexity into clear, focused messaging that resonates with advertisers.
- Collaborative, humble, curious, and rigorous partner motivated to elevate Pinterest’s presence in the B2B marketing space.
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, or related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
Additional Information
- This role does not provide relocation assistance.
- Work model follows a flexible approach, with an in-office collaboration requirement of one to two times every six months, allowing location flexibility within the United States.
- Salary range is $146,561 to $301,744 USD per year, with eligibility for equity compensation. Final salary depends on location, experience, and skills.
