Role overview
Reporting to the MENAT Director, this position is responsible for leading EBANX’s growth in Turkey. The Country Manager will own the country strategy, develop important partnerships, ensure strong operational execution, and guide a high-performing team. This role calls for a strategic professional with strong knowledge of the Turkish market who can navigate complex challenges and capture new opportunities.
What you will do
- Work with senior leadership to define and execute the Turkey strategy in line with the company’s wider business goals.
- Establish and oversee the operational foundation needed to support growth, while improving payment performance, efficiency, and conversion.
- Build, nurture, and negotiate partnerships with the Central Bank of Turkey, Troy, banks, acquirers, payment processors, and other relevant stakeholders.
- Coordinate closely with expansion, product, technology, and legal teams to align plans and enable smooth partnership delivery.
- Review performance data and market trends to spot improvement opportunities and strengthen operational results.
- Partner with legal and compliance teams to ensure all activities meet local laws and regulatory requirements, including updates as rules change.
- Represent the company in the market by developing a strong professional network and participating in industry events and associations.
What you need
- Solid experience in Turkey’s payments or financial services sector.
- Strong understanding of the Turkish market, its regulations, and the payment ecosystem, along with an established local network.
- A strategic approach to operations and business growth, including the ability to make informed risk decisions that deliver results.
- Background in leading cross-functional initiatives and building a collaborative, high-performance team culture.
- Excellent commercial negotiation skills for structuring and improving business agreements.
- Strong communication abilities and relationship management skills.
- Comfort working in a fast-moving, uncertain environment and collaborating with international teams across time zones.
- An analytical, data-led mindset that can turn insights into action.
- A positive, curious attitude and some technical fluency are advantageous.
Performance measures
Success in this role will be measured by delivery against Turkey plan targets, including TPV, revenue, and gross profit; diversification across merchants, verticals, and merchant types; maintaining competitive payment costs; and increasing market share in important Turkey payment segments such as bank transfers, cards, and mobile money.
