Cost Estimator - Railway Infrastructure

Position Summary

We are currently looking for a Cost Estimator within Railway Infrastructure (m/f/d) to join DB Bahnbau Gruppe GmbH, with possible work locations including Bad Kleinen, Berlin, Essen, Freiburg im Breisgau, Halle (Saale), Hanau, or Hannover.

Key Responsibilities

• Critically evaluate and verify tender documents for railway infrastructure projects.
• Estimate planning and assembly tasks specifically in the overhead line systems trade.
• Conduct risk analyses during the preparation of offers.
• Identify potential change orders from tender documents and handle cost assessments collaboratively with construction and project management teams.
• Request price quotations for subcontractor services during acquisition phases.
• Coordinate tender content and alignment with internal departments and external partners, particularly work preparation.
• Participate actively in contract and price negotiations.

Candidate Profile

• Successfully completed Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, industrial engineering, or a closely related field; alternatively, a master craftsman or technician qualification in construction is accepted.
• Several years of professional experience as a cost estimator or in a similar role.
• Proficient with cost calculation systems and methodologies and well-versed in VOB, VOL, HOAI, BGB, and general terms and conditions (AGB).
• Experience with the iTWO costing software is preferred.
• Strong communication skills, ability to work well in teams, and adept negotiation skills.
• High commitment and resilience, especially under tight deadlines.
• Willingness to travel occasionally on a minor scale.
