Job description
Job Overview
This position involves inspecting incoming full and empty containers, managing refrigerated container connections, monitoring hazardous goods in trucks and containers, and assessing container damages according to IICL standards. Additional responsibilities include preparing repair cost estimates following IICL criteria, participating in on-call duties, operating handling equipment such as empty container forklifts and reach stackers, and preparing special containers by installing liner bags and similar tasks.
Responsibilities
- Inspect full and empty incoming containers.
- Connect and disconnect refrigerated containers; monitor temperature settings when necessary.
- Carry out hazardous goods inspections on trucks and containers.
- Examine containers for damage utilizing IICL guidelines.
- Prepare cost estimates for container repairs based on IICL standards.
- Participate in on-call or standby duties as required.
- Operate cargo handling machines including empty container forklifts and reach stackers.
- Prepare special containers, for example, by fitting liner bags.
Requirements
- Completed vocational training.
- Willingness to work in shifts and overtime.
- Experience with Microsoft Office applications is an advantage.
- English language skills are a plus.
- Possession of a Class B driver's license and forklift certification or willingness to obtain one.
