Role Overview
We are looking for an experienced and motivated Senior Construction Programmer to lead the planning, coordination, and reporting of programmes across multiple projects. This role is critical in ensuring programme alignment from tender stages through to project handover, enhancing delivery accuracy and client satisfaction. The successful candidate will have solid experience in the Irish construction market, expertise in digital construction tools, and leadership skills to drive programme compliance and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain construction programmes for multiple projects using Asta Powerproject and/or MS Project.
- Collaborate with Preconstruction, Estimating, Contracts Management, and Site teams to create logical, resource-consistent project schedules.
- Lead planning workshops, programme reviews, and risk forecasting sessions leveraging digital tools and lean methodologies.
- Update and monitor programme progress incorporating site inputs through digital platforms such as Procore and BIM 360.
- Analyze programme discrepancies, identify root causes, and assist site leadership with recovery plans.
- Assist in preparing delay impact assessments, mitigation plans, and Extension of Time claims backed by solid evidence.
- Integrate key milestones from design through to handover into dynamic project programmes.
- Produce high-quality visual materials including staging diagrams and Gantt charts for internal and client reporting.
- Champion digital transformation initiatives within planning and delivery processes at McKeon Group.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Project Management, or a related discipline.
- At least three years’ experience in construction programming, with a minimum of two years on live building projects in Ireland.
- Proven ability to manage complex multi-phase programmes, particularly within healthcare, education, or commercial sectors.
- Strong knowledge of public and private procurement standards, e.g., Public Works, RIAI, NEC.
- Competency using MS Project, Asta Powerproject, and Excel.
- Experience with digital construction platforms like Procore, Field View, or BIM 360.
- Capability to interpret 3D models and align programme logic within federated BIM processes.
- Expertise in conducting digital planning meetings, pull planning sessions, and model-based scheduling.
- Data-driven approach adept at supporting dashboarding and reporting.
- Excellent communication skills, capable of coordinating with directors, clients, and consultant teams.

Position based in Ashbourne, Co. Meath reporting directly to the Construction Director.
