About the Role
Maple Reinders is looking for a Concrete Lead Hand to assist Foremen or Superintendents in safely and efficiently managing concrete construction tasks across projects in Bradford, Wasaga Beach, Dundalk, and nearby locations. This role combines manual labor and leadership, focusing on formwork, concrete pouring, and crew oversight to meet productivity and scheduling goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate daily activities of assigned concrete crews.
- Communicate daily plans, priorities, and production targets clearly to the team.
- Assist with formwork setup, concrete placement, stripping, and resetting forms.
- Support in layout activities, including checking elevations, dimensions, and tolerances.
- Inspect formwork and embedded components before concrete pouring.
- Detect and address any deficiencies prior to pours.
- Model best practices in health and safety, participating in assessments and toolbox talks.
- Collaborate closely with Foremen, Superintendents, and other trades.
- Monitor workflow, productivity, and site logistics to maintain efficiency.
Qualifications & Experience
- At least 3 years of experience in concrete construction.
- Proven practical experience with formwork, placing, and finishing concrete.
- Familiarity with wall and slab formwork systems such as Meva or equivalents.
- Ability to interpret construction drawings and technical specifications.
- Experience leading small teams or senior roles in the field.
- Strong knowledge of construction sequencing and productivity management.
Working Conditions
- Physically demanding position primarily in the field.
- Combines hands-on tasks with team leadership responsibilities.
- Exposure to various weather environments.
- Potential travel required depending on project sites.
